What experts say about dosing

3 statements from 2 people. Each one is word for word: we add punctuation only and mark cuts with […]. The chips repeat the exact words used.

Own experiment (no effect for him)

Dose
“a th000 micrograms, 1 milligram”
How long
“10 days subcutaneously and then 10 days intramuscular”
How taken
“subcutaneously … intramuscular”
When
“before bed”

“Delta sleep inducing peptide, abbreviated to dsip: personally, about one and a half years ago I ran an experiment where I took a th000 micrograms, 1 milligram, before bed, 10 days subcutaneously and then 10 days intramuscular […] it didn't really do anything, but to be fair I do hear good anecdotal reports”

Watch at 7:38Comatose-Inducing Drugs For “Deep Quality Sleep” | Deep-Sleep Deep-Dive PART 2 (VigorousSteve) · 31 May 2023

Context: The cut removes a garbled phrase (“lease so r two vs 20 milligrams in total so you don't have to”). He adds that he was already using growth hormone, melatonin and other sleep aids at the time.

Reported dose range

Dose
“250 to 1,000 microgram”
How taken
“subq”
When
“1 to two hours before bet”

“but if you're not on this stack you might get some benefits out of it. doses range between 250 to 1,000 microgram subq 1 to two hours before bet. there's a lot of scientific evidence performed on animal studies, not a lot on human subjects”

Context: “bet” is how the captions render “bed”. He does not say where the range comes from.

Where he says the dose lands

Dose
“Anywhere between 200 to 400 micrograms”
How often
“daily”

“find the smallest amount that moves your deep sleep numbers, and that's your dose, not the biggest dose that you can tolerate, the smallest one that works. And for D Sep, here's where that lands. Anywhere between 200 to 400 micrograms taken daily.”

Context: “D Sep” is how the captions render DSIP. He adds that a common community range runs from 200 to 500 plus.

What experts say about safety

2 statements from 2 people about risks and how strong the evidence is.

Sleep and inflammation

“Delta Sleep does, uh, like what it says, is a Sleep Center, but it's very anti-inflammatory, so one of the things it, it likely does is lower the inflammation in the hypothalamus and that really helps you get deep sleep”

Context: No dose given. Earlier he describes combining epitalon or other pineal peptides with delta sleep-inducing peptide for people who “can't sleep like myself”.

Listed among sleep aids

“man, there's so many sleep aids you can look into. Melatonin, delta sleep inducing peptides, whether that's injectable or intraasally. Epylon can make you sleepy. […] Um pinealon or pinolon can make you sleepy.”

Context: Answering a viewer in a solo livestream. “Epylon” is probably epitalon. No dose given.

What the research used

Context, not a dosing guide. The human trials are small and old, used intravenous doses, and reported weak or inconsistent effects. None of this establishes a dose for subcutaneous use.

Human trials

StudyStudied inWhat the study usedWhat it found
Schneider-Helmert, 1987, Eur NeurolPubMed 362258214 middle-aged people with chronic insomniaDSIP injections on 7 nights (placebo-controlled)Night sleep and daytime alertness improved
Monti et al., 1987, Int J Clin Pharmacol ResPubMed 3583493People with chronic insomniaIV 25 nmol/kg on 4 nightsSleep improvement judged to be of little clinical significance
Bes et al., 1992, NeuropsychobiologyPubMed 129979416 people with chronic insomniaIV 25 nmol/kg on 3 nightsHigher sleep efficiency vs placebo, but effects were weak
What we don’t know yet
  • Small trials from 1987–1992 with mixed results.
  • Trials used intravenous dosing, not subcutaneous injection.
  • Vigorous Steve reports no effect in his own 20-day experiment.
  • Grey-market products are unregulated, so identity, purity and dose accuracy vary.
Common questions

Does DSIP work for sleep?

The small trials disagree. One found clear improvement; two others found weak or clinically small effects.

What did Vigorous Steve find?

He says 1 mg before bed for 20 days “didn't really do anything” for him, while he was already using other sleep aids.

Why does the protocol section only contain quotes?

We do not write our own dose ranges. The protocol cards show, word for word, what named people have publicly said, with their caveats and a link to the source.
