Own use: comparison protocol

Dose
“1,000 micrograms”
How long
“four weeks (part 1)”
How taken
“nasal drops or subcutaneous”

“I've been doing this comparison with dosages of exactly a th000 micrograms SX nasal drops or subcutaneous administrations or 1,000 micrograms sank nasal drops or subc subcutaneous Administration so the dosing protocol has been exactly the same”

Nasal Semax + Selank: per application

Dose
“around 1 milligram per application”
How often
“up to three times per day”
How long
“break after 2 to 3 months if daily”
How taken
“nasal spray”

“Now, both are in nasal spray because we do want this in the brain. Nasal is optimal here. Doing can be anywhere around 1 milligram per application up to three times per day. Switching between nostrils. Some patients use it daily for cognitive demands. Others use it situationally like a bit of a neutropic where only when I need it. If you are running it every day, give yourself a break probably after 2 to 3 months.”

Context: “both” means Semax and Selank, which he presents as a pair (the captions render them “CAX” and “Seal”). He does not give separate amounts for each. “Doing” is how the captions render “Dosing”.

Dose alongside Semax

Dose
“300 to 400 micrograms, maybe 600”

“And then there's Selank, which I always run with Semax. […] Same dosing as Selank and Semax, so they're 300 to 400 micrograms, maybe 600 if you're going crazy.”

Context: The cut removes his description of what Selank does. He says “Same dosing as Selank and Semax” while talking about Selank; we read it as “same dosing as Semax”.

What the research used

Context, not a dosing guide. The clinical studies we could verify were published in Russian and compared Selank with an older anti-anxiety drug. They are not a guide to dosing.

Human studies

StudyStudied inWhat the study usedWhat it found
Zozulia et al., 2008, Zh Nevrol Psikhiatr Im S S KorsakovaPubMed 1845409662 patients with generalised anxiety disorder or neurastheniaSelank (30 patients) vs medazepam (32)Similar anti-anxiety effect; abstract reports added anti-fatigue effects with Selank
What we don’t know yet
  • Few trials, mostly in Russian and from groups linked to its development.
  • No large placebo-controlled trial found.
  • Grey-market products are unregulated, so identity, purity and dose accuracy vary.
Common questions

Is Selank the same as Semax?

No. Both were developed in Russia and are taken as nasal drops or sprays, but Selank is a tuftsin analogue studied for anxiety, and Semax is an ACTH fragment studied for stroke and cognition.

How is Selank taken?

The quotes describe nasal drops or sprays and subcutaneous injection.

Why does the protocol section only contain quotes?

We do not write our own dose ranges. The protocol cards show, word for word, what named people have publicly said, with their caveats and a link to the source.
