Hexarelin (GH cheat-sheet)

Dose
“100 micrograms to 150 microgr”
How often
“up to three times daily”
How taken
“subcutaneous”

“ex morelan, also know as hex Morin, 100 micrograms to 150 microgr subcutaneous up to three times daily”

Watch at 7:27MAXIMIZE Growth Hormone With Ipamorelin & Tesamorelin (Cheat-Sheet) MK-677, GHRP-6, CJC-1295 & More! · 30 Jan 2024

Context: One line from a spoken cheat-sheet of ghrelin-receptor agonists. “ex morelan” and “hex Morin” are how the auto-captions render examorelin and hexarelin (two names for the same peptide); “microgr” is microgram. Just before, he says most people would use a GHRH-receptor agonist “once or twice per day in combination with a” ghrelin-receptor agonist.

What he typically prescribes: 100 mcg

Dose
“100 micrograms”

“Right, but hexarelin still exists. That can be compounded. […] A 100 micrograms. It's the same as these other, like ipamorelin, GHRP-6, a 100 micrograms.”

Context: The cut is Andrew Huberman’s question: “What’s the dosage on hexarelin that you typically prescribe?” He does not say how often in this answer; earlier in the episode he describes giving growth-hormone peptides at bedtime, five days on and two days off.

What the research used

Context, not a dosing guide. The human studies below gave hexarelin by vein in single test doses or by injection twice a day for 16 weeks, dosed by body weight. They show that the growth-hormone response fades with long use; they do not establish a dose for self-use.

Human studies

StudyStudied inWhat the study usedWhat it found
Arvat et al., 1997, PeptidesPubMed 92859396 healthy young adults and 6 older adultsSingle doses of 1 and 2 µg/kg by vein, compared with GHRP-2Strong GH release similar to GHRP-2; also raised prolactin, ACTH and cortisol
Bellone et al., 1998, J Endocrinol InvestPubMed 9801989Children, young adults and older adults (36 people)Single 2 µg/kg dose by veinStrong GH response in pubertal children and young adults; weaker in prepubertal children and older people
Rahim et al., 1998, J Clin Endocrinol MetabPubMed 9589671Healthy older adults1.5 µg/kg under the skin twice a day for 16 weeksGH response fell partly over time and recovered 4 weeks after stopping; no significant change in IGF-1, body fat or lean mass
What we don’t know yet
  • Only small, short human studies; no trials of long-term self-use.
  • The growth-hormone response weakens with continuous use.
  • Raises cortisol and prolactin as well as growth hormone.
  • Products sold online as research peptides are unregulated, so identity, purity and dose accuracy vary.
Common questions

How do the expert doses compare?

Vigorous Steve gives 100 to 150 micrograms under the skin up to three times daily. Dr Craig Koniver says he typically prescribes 100 micrograms. See their quotes for context.

Is hexarelin the same as GHRP-6?

No. It is a related, more potent hexapeptide that acts on the same ghrelin receptor.

Why does the protocol section only contain quotes?

We do not write our own dose ranges. The protocol cards show, word for word, what named people have publicly said, with their caveats and a link to the source.
