iNot medical advice. We don’t recommend any dose. Every dose below is a quote from the person named, describing their views or their own use. Cerebrolysin is a prescription medicine in a number of countries in Europe and Asia, but it is not approved in the US or UK. It is a pig-derived product given by injection or drip; only use it under a doctor’s care.

“EXPERIMENTAL DOSING FOR OPTIMAL BRAIN FUNCTION • Cerebrolysin comes in a 10 ml ampule, inject 1 ml IM once a week to 2-3 times a week. • The rest of the 9 ml draw up with a needle and syringe with use a filter. Store in a sterile vial (amber vial) for multiuse”

“IV 2-3 times a week; IM 3-5 times a week”
How taken
“IV infusion or IM”

“• Dosing used in studies were 10- 30 ml/ day IV 5 days a week. • Concentration is 215.2 mg/ml • Comes in 10 ml ampules • Optional dosing • Infuse 30 ml (6456 mg) in 250 cc of normal saline over 1 hour 2-3 times a week. Recommend using a filter • 1 ml (215.2 mg) IM shot 3-5 times a week”

Context: The first line summarises the hospital studies (given by drip into a vein, IV); “optional dosing” is his own suggestion. An IV infusion is given in a clinic. From his conference slides for doctors (Age Management Medicine Group); the slides are undated.

What the research used

Context, not a dosing guide. The trials below gave Cerebrolysin by drip into a vein, usually 10 to 50 ml a day for a few weeks, to people after a stroke or brain injury or with Alzheimer’s disease. Many were sponsored by the manufacturer. None tested it as a brain booster in healthy people.

What we don’t know yet
  • The trials were in hospital patients, mostly with infusions into a vein, not home injections.
  • No good evidence that it improves thinking in healthy people; Bryan Johnson measured no effect.
  • It is made from animal tissue, so allergic reactions are possible.
  • Products sold online as research peptides are unregulated, so identity, purity and dose accuracy vary.
Common questions

How do the expert doses compare?

Dr Edwin Lee’s slides for doctors suggest 1 ml injected into a muscle, from once a week up to 3-5 times a week, or 30 ml infusions in a clinic. Bryan Johnson injected 5 mL daily for three months and measured no effect.

Is Cerebrolysin a single peptide?

No. It is a mixture of many small peptides and amino acids taken from pig brain.

Why does the protocol section only contain quotes?

We do not write our own dose ranges. The protocol cards show, word for word, what named people have publicly said, with their caveats and a link to the source.
