Dose range and empty stomach

Dose
“100-150 mcg per injection”
How often
“1-4X per day”
When
“on an empty stomach”

“This is why GHRP-6 should be administered on an empty stomach (no food should be consumed for 15-20 minutes post-injection if maximum GH release is desired. In addition when using GHRP-6 for GH release, the average dosing range is between 100-150 mcg per injection and dosing frequency is between 1-4X per day.”

Context: From his 2016 growth-hormone stack article. The opening bracket is not closed in the original. He adds that GHRP-6 “should be combined with a GHRH” for maximal GH release.

Context: One line from a spoken cheat-sheet of ghrelin-receptor agonists; just before, he says most people would use a GHRH-receptor agonist “once or twice per day in combination with a” ghrelin-receptor agonist. “microgr” is how the auto-captions render microgram.

Same 100 mcg as hexarelin and ipamorelin

Dose
“100 micrograms”

“A 100 micrograms. It's the same as these other, like ipamorelin, GHRP-6, a 100 micrograms.”

Side effects of GHRPs

“When used in excessive quantities or excessive frequencies, or stacked incorrectly with the other compounds you’ll learn about in this article, all GHRP’s also share a few common negative side effects: specifically water retention, excessive sleepiness, tightness or carpel tunnel-like symptoms in the wrist/hand, numbness and tingling in the extremities, and a decrease in insulin sensitivity.”

Context: In the same article he writes that “compared to GHRP-2, GHRP-6 tends to cause a huge increase in hunger.”

Tier list: C tier

“GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 are C-tier in 2026. They were staples 10-15 years ago, but they have been superseded. Both cause cortisol and prolactin spikes that are absent with ipamorelin. GHRP-6 triggers significant hunger, which is counterproductive in a fat loss context.”

What the research used

Context, not a dosing guide. The human studies of GHRP-6 are short, small studies that measured the growth-hormone response to single doses, given by vein or by mouth and dosed by body weight. They do not establish a dose for repeated use.

Human studies

StudyStudied inWhat the study usedWhat it found
Bowers et al., 1992, J Clin Endocrinol MetabPubMed 17308075 healthy men and 9 children of short statureSingle oral doses of 100 and 300 µg/kgGH peaked 60–75 min after the dose; the higher dose gave the larger rise
Pandya et al., 1998, J Clin Endocrinol MetabPubMed 9543138Healthy volunteersGHRP-6 by vein, with or without GHRHMaximal GH release required the body’s own GHRH
What we don’t know yet
  • Only short single-dose studies in people; no trials of repeated use.
  • Raises cortisol and prolactin as well as GH, and strongly increases hunger (see the expert quotes).
  • Grey-market products are unregulated, so identity, purity and dose accuracy vary.
Common questions

How is GHRP-6 different from ipamorelin?

Both act on the ghrelin receptor. Ben Greenfield and Nicholas Trigili describe GHRP-6 as causing much more hunger, and Nicholas Trigili says it raises cortisol and prolactin, which ipamorelin does not.

Why does the protocol section only contain quotes?

We do not write our own dose ranges. The protocol cards show, word for word, what named people have publicly said, with their caveats and a link to the source.
